Wilda Marie Lilly Meredith, 86 of Rich Creek, passed away, Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Heritage Hall – Rich Creek. Born August 8, 1928, in Raleigh County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter Earl and Ora Marie Pack Lilly. After graduating high school in 1945 she taught at Ellison Ridge, W.Va., on a WV Permit. Mrs. Meredith was retired from the Celanese Corp. after 50 years of service. She had volunteered at the CELCO Credit Union for 30 years and also the Peterstown Elementary School. Wilda was a member of the First Church of God at Rich Creek. In addition to her parents she was preceded death by two brothers, an infant and Sidney Earl Lilly. Survivors include her loving husband, of 61 years, Emory L. Meredith; sister, Nina Stanley and husband, Dick of Daniels, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Jeff Canterbury, Aubrey Whitlow and Bernice Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek. Visitation will be Noon until time of the service, Tuesday December 23, 2014 at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Carilion Giles Community Hospital and Heritage Hall – Rich Creek for the wonderful care provided to Mrs. Meredith.
