Rachel Lawrence, daughter of Col. Elisha Lawrence and Elizabeth Drake Lawrence married Andrew Deveny. Andrew died Oct 1816 as his will was proven Nov. 1, 1816 at Indiana Co., Pennsylvania. Rachel and the family removed from "Freedom", the Devinnny Homestead in Devinny's Hollow, located on the Blacklick Township, side and next to Center Twp. boundry and went by riverboat to settle in Rock Island County, Illinois. She remained with some of her children until her death probably, around Davenport, Rock Island Co., Illinois in 1848.
