JOHN PAUL BUCHER, JR.
John Paul Bucher, Jr, 67, of Sistersville, WV died Monday, December 29, 2014 in the Wheeling Hospital.
He was born December 18, 1947 at Reader, a son of the late John Paul Bucher and Tersie O. Sapp Bucher.
John worked for many years at the Western Auto Associate store in Hundred, under the ownership of Tim and Freda Ashcraft. He bought the store from the Ashcrafts when they retired. Later he worked as the manager of the Home Hardware of Hundred until it closed. At that point he became the maintenance supervisor for the Sistersville Center.
Mr. Bucher attended the United Christian Fellowship Church in Middlebourne.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Bonnie Knight Bucher; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Bucher and his wife Devon and John Paul Bucher, all of Fairmont; two step-daughters, Sandra Perkins and her husband Danny of Hundred and Laura Gottlieb and her husband Chris of Mooresville, NC; two step-sons and their spouses, David Chaffee and his wife Mindy of Olathe, KS and John Chaffee and his fiance’ Carol of Omaha, NB; two brothers and their spouses, James Spragg and his wife Nellie of Hundred and Roger Spragg and his wife Shirley of Kodol; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Longwell-Park and Kathryn Hostuttler.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 6-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the United Christian Fellowship Church, Middlebourne, at 11:00 AM Friday with the Pastor Mike Lenz officiating. Interment will follow in the United Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.
