Jacob A Hoch Dies on Friday
Retired Mail Carrier Had Been Ill 8 Years
Jacob Albert Hoch, 86, died Friday, October 4, at his home in Newburg. He had been an invalid for the past eight years.
Mr. Hoch was born July 15, 1860, in Franklin county, the son of the late Abraham and Catharine Shoemaker Hoch. He was a mail carrier until his retirement a number of years ago. He was a member of the Church of God at Newburg.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Clarence Hoch of Pittsburgh and Donald A. Hoch of Lemoyne, and a daughter, Mrs. Veta B. Brosiors of New Cumberland.
Funeral services were at the Van Scyoc funeral home in Shippensburg at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. William C. Fortna. Burial was made in the Otterbein cemetery.

It is possible that Jacob may have had another marriage - In 1887 a Jacob A Hoch born about 1860, son of Abram and Margaret Hoch, married Cora Staver according to their marriage license.
