~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arrangements for the funeral of Albert Curtis Crawford, 71, prominent farmer near Pinhook. He died suddenly at 5:40 p.m. Monday, February 29, 1932 from a heart attack suffered while he was milking at the barn on his farm, are being delayed pending word from his son Charles Crawford, who lives in Louisiana.
Corner O.D. Emerson called to investigate the death said "It was the result of heart trouble".
Mr. Crawford and his son Orin Crawford were together at the barn when the aged farmer was stricken. He died almost immediately before medical aid could reach him. Mr. Crawford recently suffered an attack of influenza, but had sufficiently recovered to attend to his farm work. It is thought that his recent illness weakened.
Albert Curtis Crawford was a native of Lawrence County, Indiana and was born to George W. and Lucretia A.Root Crawford on March 27, 1860. He was married on January 16, 1892 to Nancy "Jane" Speer, at an early age.
Besides his son Charles, in Louisiana he leaves the the widow , three other son Orin Crawford and Noble Crawford both of the Pinhook neighborhood, Arlie Crawford of Bedford, Indiana; stepson, Delbert Speer and a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Nora Mae (Harve) Umphress and Mrs. Addie (Albert) Brown both of Bedford; Mrs. Lula Watson, St Louis, Missouri; Ott (Della) Crawford and Otis (Mona) Crawford both of Lawrence County.
Mr. Crawford's entire life was passed in this county where he remained active in the pursuit of agriculture to the closing minutes of his life. His death proved a shock to members of his family and the community which he resided.
