Nellie Zylstra, age 88, or Worthington, died Wednesday February 18, 2004 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born January 3, 1916 near Sibley, IA to Frank and Dena (Kolkman) Jansma. She attended rural school and worked as a housekeeper for various families around Sibley.

Nellie was united in marriage to Dick Zylstra September 7, 1937 at her parents' home. He preceded her in death June 12, 1976. They lived in Doon, IA for six years and in 1942 purchased a farm north of Worthington. She moved to Worthington in July of 1978 where she made her home until moving to South Shore Care Center September 24, 2002.

Nellie was a member of the American Reformed Church in Worthington and taught Sunday School and was involved with Bible School. She was active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and quilting.

Nellie is survived by two sons and one daughter, 6 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Betty and son Ronald, one granddaughter Denae McCauley, three brothers and three sisters.

Interment is in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, rural Worthington.
