MINNIE M CROSIER, 88, OF FLORIDA
Minnie May (Gifford) Crosier, 88, wife of Melvin D Crosier of 74 Mohawk Trail in the town of Florida, died this morning, Feb. 9, 1993, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Jan. 16. Death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in the town of Florida, March 10, 1904, she was a daughter of Jessie and Abbie (Pelkey) Gifford. She attended schools there.
She worked as a domestic for several families in the area and was employed at the Whitcomb Summit Restaurant. More recently, she worked in the cafeteria of the Gabriel-Abbott Memorial School in the town.
Mrs Crosier was a member of Blackinton Union Church, North Adams; Franklin Chapter 92, Order of the Eastern Star; and a former member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Florida Baptist Church.
She enjoyed knitting.
Besides her husband, whom she married April 25, 1937, she leaves a son Charles J Chilson of the town of Florida; a daughter, four sisters, a brother, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Three other sisters, Hazel Martin, Mabel Martin, and Dorothy Rousseau, and another brother Henry Gifford are deceased.
The funeral from the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals-West Chapels, North Adams, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Christopher L. Drew, pastor of the First Baptist Church North Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Sadawga Cemetery, Whitingham, Vt.
Calling hours are Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 521 W. Main St., North Adams, Mass. 01247
