MRS. MARY REAGAN
Mrs. Mary Dalton Reagan passed away suddenly at her home in this Village Sunday morning, May 31, 1925. She had not been in the best of health for a year or more, since a shock, but for the past few days had been unusually cheerful and the end came as a shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Reagan was a widow of the late John Reagan who died fifteen years ago. She was born in Althea, County Limerick, Ireland, the daughter of Timothy and Joanna Fitzgerald Dalton and was the oldest of a family of nine children. Coming to this country when a young lady, she resided near Messengerville until the death of her husband. For the past five years she had resided in Tully.
She is survived by five sons, John C. and Joseph T., of Tully, James of Chadwicks, Edward of Messengerville and Daniel Reagan of Jamesville; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Mary) Risley of Oneida and Mrs. Anna Newell of Syracuse; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Kate Dalton and Mrs. Andrew McSweeney of Cortland and a brother, James Dalton, Ireland; also, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral services were held at St. Leo’s church Wednesday morning. The solemn High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Tracy assisted by Father Baker of Cortland and Father Sloan of Jamesville. Lanigan’s choir of Cortland sang several selections. Burial was made at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland where special services were held at the grave.
Mrs. Reagan was a communicant of St. Leo’s church and a member of the Rosary society.
