Ava "Preach" Madeline (Culp) Seaney, 90, of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. She was born on September 14, 1931, in West York, IL, the daughter of Chester "Cheese" & Laura Elizabeth (Kenderdine) Culp, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Robert Herman Seaney on January 25, 1950, and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her daughter & son-in-law, Jean Anne & Rex Sutfin, and seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jay & Trudy Seaney (West York, IL); by five grandchildren & their spouses, Kellie (Sutfin) Riley (Marshall, IL), Valerie (Seaney) & Jason Shidler (Robinson, IL), Tony Sutfin & Dawn Severson (Marshall, IL), Jennifer (Seaney) & John Crampton (Robinson, IL), and Travis Krick & Kristi Tremaine (Robinson, IL); by eleven great-grandchildren, Madison (Roberts) & Cole Myer, Hannah Roberts, Gracie Shidler, Ethan Shidler, Emma Sutfin, Chloe Sutfin, Jarrett Crampton, Chase Crampton, Bryce Crampton, Jackson Harmon, and Andrew Crampton; by her sisters, Mary "Mick" Culp Wood (Robinson, IL), Fran (Culp) & Mike Dorn (Robinson, IL); by her brothers, Cleon Culp (Willow Hill, IL) and Dee & Jeanette Culp (Robinson, IL); by a number of special family members, including Susan (Seaney) McDaniel and Edward Gottschalk; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Marshall High School, Preach would go on to become a talented beautician, and what's more, she loved the work. In fact, one of the great joys of her life was owning her own beauty shop. Away from work, she kept herself busy. A lover of music, she frequented square dances and line dances and also kept fit through water aerobics. She fed her innate sense of wanderlust by traveling throughout the United States as well as many international destinations. On one such trip, she took a cruise that allowed her to share the sights of New York City, Paris, Pisa (among others) alongside her family. She even had the opportunity to ride camelback in Africa during one of her travels!

Time at home often found her quilting, crafting, and painting treasures that her loved ones are sure to cherish for years to come. She was also known to work jigsaw puzzles and relished playing cards with her friends and family. Though she loved Bridge, Preach loved them even more. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, is truly what brought life to her living.

She was a member of a number of area organizations, including the Elks, Shriner's Auxiliary, Star Prowlers, Illinois Hairdressers Association, and Porterville Congregational Church, where she was a longtime member. We find peace in the assurance that Preach is resting in the loving arms of her Savior.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27th, at the Palestine Cemetery, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Shriners Hospitals for Children", with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
