Dorothy B. Angelico peacefully passed away on January 5, 2015, at the age of 90 in Jefferson, Louisiana. Born as Dorothy Marie Black in Mexia, Texas, on August 9, 1924, she brought joy to all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, Laithe Weldon Black and Robert E. Lee Black, both of Mexia, Texas, and her sister, Ada Lee Bates of Orange, Texas, Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Blaise N. Angelico, and two sons, Richard A. Angelico and Blaise A. Angelico, M.D., along with their spouses, Diane C. Angelico and Janet B. Angelico. She leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, cherished by her family. Dorothy was deeply involved in her community, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, poll commissioner, and active member of various veterans' associations. Known for her talents in gardening, ceramics, sewing, crochet, knitting, and needlepoint, she shared her passions with others. Dorothy and her husband shared a love for travel, exploring destinations like Branson, Missouri, San Antonio, Texas, Mexico, and Mississippi. She was the family historian, preserving and sharing stories of generations past. The family extends gratitude to the compassionate nurses and doctors at East Jefferson General Hospital, whose care provided comfort in her final weeks.
