HIS MOTHER:
“Jerusha Fowkles” was born on 6-26-1747 @ Amelia Co., VA into a large, wealthy family. She died on 6-28-1789 @ Lunenburg Co., VA. Her parents’ plantation was called “Old Field” & later renamed “Hyde Park” in the 1800’s; it still stands in 2015 & is a home on the historic register.

Jerusha’s Father was "John A. Fowlkes" (1722 VA—1799 VA). His Parents were 'Gabriel Fowlkes I & Elizabeth Fowlkes'.

Jerusha’s Mother was “Sarah Jennings" (1730 VA—1782 VA). Her parents were ‘Col. William Henry Jennings’ (1676-1775) & ‘Mary Jane 'Polly' Pulliam Jennings’ (1704-1774).

"David Ellington, JR." was born on 9-7-1741 @ Amelia County, VA. He died on 1-2-1820 @ Wilkes County, GA.

David’s Father was "David Ellington, Sr." who was born in 1713 or 1718 @ Prince George Co., VA. He died on 5-11-1774 @ Nottoway Parish, Amelia Co., VA. His Parents were ‘John Ellington, Jr. or IV & Sarah Sabrina Worsham Ellington’.

David’s Mother was "Martha Ann Tucker" who was born on 8-29-1719 or 9-29-1719 @ Prince George Co., VA. She died on 5-9-1782 @ Lunenburg Co., VA. According to records, she lived with her son, David JR., following her husband's death. Her Parents were "Robert Tucker, Jr. & Martha Epes Tucker".

“Nathan” was the Deputy Clerk of Russell Co., VA...whereas his father-in-law (Henry Dickenson, JR.) was the Clerk.

“Elizabeth Dickenson” was born on 2-6-1774 in VA. She died on 10-22-1818 @ Lebanon, Russell Co., VA. She was buried with her husband, parents, & other Dickenson relatives @ the Old Russell County Courthouse.

“Henry Dickenson, JR.” (1750-1825) &
“Mary Powell m: Dickenson” (1762-1842).

HENRY served as the County Clerk for Russell Co., VA. It is said that he & his wife built the building. This is the location for the cemetery as well.
