Funeral services for S. B. Juberian, who died on Feb. 10 at Our Lady of Mercy hospital in Alexandria, were held from St. Nicholas church of Belle River on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. Father John Bussman officiated and interment was made in the St. Nicholas church cemetery. S. B. Juberian was born in Luxenbourg, Germany on March 4, 1880. When an infant he immigrated to Mankato, Minn., with his parents. He moved to Belle River in 1902 to farm for himself. He was united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1904 to Josephine Dunn at St. Nicholas church in Belle River. To this union six children were born: Florence of Osakis, Mabel of Minneapolis, Adele of Savage, Robert of Osakis, and Frank and John at home; and four grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers and six sisters . His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Juberian was well known and active in community affairs. He was treasurer of school board Dist. 41 for 40 years. He was director of the Belle River creamery board for 23 years and secretary for 20 years. He served as supervisor of the Belle River town board for 35 years. He served two terms as county commissioner for the 5th district from 1940 to 1948. He was chairman for two years. The last two years he was assessor for Belle River township. He held the office of school board, secretary of Belle River creamery and assessor at the time of his death. Pallbearers were Nicholas Hintzen, Nicholas Steidl, Martin Hagen, Anton Schneiderhan, Wm. Quinn and Mike Collins.
