Ethel Ruesch Porter, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, died August 14, 1991 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital. She was born December 23, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant to Edwin and Hannah Johansen Ruesch. Married Vernon Griffin Porter December 23, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was a housewife and homemaker. Member of the Mt. Pleasant 3rd LDS Ward, where she served as Relief Society President, as ward and stake organist, also in many other church callings.


Survived by husband; three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Marlene Holman, Manti; Michael V., Ephraim; Ronald K., West Valley City; Mrs. Helen P. Howell, Federal Way, Wash.; Mrs. LeAnne Edwards, Peoria, Ariz.; Edwin H., Mt. Pleasant; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Evan Ruesch, Ephraim; Reed Ruesch, Mt. Pleasant; Ned Ruesch, Murray; Mrs. Ada Bench, Fairview. Preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Scott Porter.


Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., in the Mt. Pleasant 3rd LDS Ward. Friends call Sunday, at the ward chapel, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Monday, one and one half hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Buchanan Mortuary.
