Her siblings were Jessie Clinton and Mary Alice all born in Greene County.
Walked three miles to school each day. She attended Alpha High school but didn't graduate.
She met her husband Elmer while he was building fences for the Ankeney family. They were married on January 31, 1901. They had five girls, Mary, Margaret, Mildred, Pauline, and Naomi Elizabeth (my grandma).
She was a member of the Belmont UB Church.
She was always busy, she worked at The Ladies Aid Society, directed plays at Belmont Town Hall. Always ready to help if someone needed her. She tended to the sick as well as delivering babies. The people in the area considered her as the midwife. She also raised chickens, she sold eggs and if you wanted to buy a chicken she would ring its neck and have it cleaned. My grandma helped her with this she would say "come on let's go to get a chicken" and her mother would ring its neck and grandma would have to dip it in the boiling pot and clean it. She didn't like going but she had to help too.
She helped to take care of her grandchildren. For Sunday dinner she always had company. Bishop Wright (father of the Wright Brothers) and many other ministers.
She developed diabetes's at an early age. But she kept on doing for others. Went through the depression and they lost all their assets. On the day she died she had cooked supper, after that they got word that the landlord was going to raise the rent. Shortly after she had a heart attack and passed away. She was 60 years old.
