She was born November 9,1850 to Henry Ankeney and Evaline (Green). She had six brothers and sisters.
She married Albert Fogwell of Greene Co. They had three children, Jessie Clinton, Nora Rebecca and Alice May.
Her husband was a farmer and passed away when he was 34 years old from a poisonous mushroom. She raised her children alone.
She moved to Iowa after her brothers wife passed away to help him with the children. Shortly after that his house caught fire, she helped carry water to try and save the house.
She developed polio at 29 years of age leaving her crippled. She made many quilts all pieced and quilted by hand. She did a lot of different things to make a living and raise her children. In later years she divided her time between her three children by living with them.
She passed away from a fall while living with her daughter Alice May. She was 89 years old.
She was laid to rest July 28, 1940.
