Adriana was born in a little town in the Netherlands.
In 1954 she married Harry Manders, and together they had four children. Twins Frank and John in 1956 (Frank passed away in 2012), Henk (my husband) was born in 1960, and in 1971 their fourth son Will was born. Harry passed away in 1973.
In the late 70's she met a very charming man, who lived in Australia. She decided to follow him, and they married.
In 1980 she sold her house in the Netherlands and moved to Australia. Her youngest son, who was nine years old at that time, went with her. Her other three sons stayed in the Netherlands. In 1990 she and her husband came to Holland and visited all family members. It then took a long time before we saw her again. In 2005 she came on a vacation to the Netherlands again. Alone, this time, her husband passed away a few years before. She stayed for 6 weeks, 2 weeks she stayed in our house. I took some time off from work, so we could spend time together. She loved to take long walks, so we did, and talked about a lot of things. She told me stories about her childhood (she had a hard childhood) and about her life in Australia. She loved living there. I got to know her better in these weeks, and I loved her.
She was such a sweet lady...we will miss her very much.
