Funeral services are planned for Friday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. CST at St. John United Methodist Church in La Fayette with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by three daughters, Carrie Lee Brooks of La Fayette, Sara Davidson of Lanett and Christine (Melvin) Linson of La Fayette; one son, James (Sharon) Brooks of La Fayette; a goddaughter, Lakesha Leverett McCoy of La Fayette; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Brooks was born Feb. 21, 1918 in Chambers County. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST.
