Zena Ruth Haught Obituary Zena Ruth Haught, age 89 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Sapulpa. Ruth was born December 12, 1925 to Warren and Bessie Lenora (Reeves) Locke in Wayne County, Illinois.

Ruth attended Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Illinois where she met the love of her life Guy M. Haught. They married June 3, 1946 in Energy, Illinois. Guy preceded her in death in 1999 after 52 years of marriage. The Lord blessed them with five children. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, helping her husband in his ministry at churches in Hominy, Wagoner and Haskell. She loved teaching Sunday school and did this for many years.

After raising her family Ruth became a Certified Medical Assistant for Hominy Care Center and later on an Avon representative. While she loved her work, her favorite thing was cooking. Along with her sister-in-law Marilyn Haught they hosted big holiday get togethers and enjoyed some good "ole time gospel" singings. Family and friends always loved going to Ruth's home. She loved her grandkids. She loved all God's creations dogs, birds and squirrels. Ruth learned to read at an early age, even before entering school. Sisters Marie and Waneta would take her to the library to get books on their cards. Reading remained a passion throughout her life. Ruth was loved and respected by many, even as her health declined she was a joy to be around. Ruth was a member of Lakeside Church of Christ in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, son and wife, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and nieces and nephews and other beloved family and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Guy Haught, infant daughter Janie Sue and son Mark Randall; six sisters, Naomi Irene Jackson, Waneta Elizabeth Toombs, Marie Elda Greene, Mildred Roberta Simms, Carmen Hazel Hutchcraft, and Clarabel Sarles; one infant brother, Harold Milton Locke; also two beloved pets, Missy and Bubbles.

Ruth's services will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Mickey White of Lakeside Church of Christ officiating. Congregational hymns will be "How Great Thou Art", "No Tears in Heaven" and congregational hymn "Amazing Grace" at the cemetery. Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery with arrangements made through the Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
