SPRINGFIELD, IL - Dorothy M. Wallace, 84, of Springfield, departed this life on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015.

Dorothy was born March 21, 1930, in Uniontown, Ala., the daughter of John Henry Austin and Rebecca Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Lee Wallace; grandmother, Rosie Austin; two sons, Louis Wallace and Oscar Lee Wallace, Jr.; five daughters: Barbara Phillips, Daisy Williams, Catherine Cooper, Charletha Harris, and Debra Gleghorn; special loved ones: Joann Wallace, Charletha Spencer, Ike Murph, Kamara Cooper, Cortez Wallace; two special loving and devoted granddaughters, Bernedette and Patrice Wallace; and two loving and devoted grandsons, Jerome (Hank) Wallace and Quintez Acers.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons: Kent (Tonya) Wallace, Patrick "P.J." (Niecie) Wallace and Larry Wallace, all of Springfield, Ill.; two daughters, Rosemary Holloway and Diane Wallace, both of Springfield, Ill.; 86 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Second Timothy Baptist Church in Springfield with visitation one hour before service.
Professional services were entrusted to Walker Funeral Service in Springfield.
