PALMETTO ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas at 3:00 p.m. for Barney M. Bihm, age 71, who passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his residence in Palmetto.
Interment will be in Woods Cemetery in Waxia. The Rev. James Thomasee, pastor of First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Bihm was a native and lifelong resident of Palmetto and a parishioner of the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge. A veteran of the military, Mr. Bihm served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Special Forces in Vietnam.

Survivors include his former wife, Patricia Mouille, of Palmetto; two sons, Milton Bihm and his wife, Michelle Leblanc, and Jason Bihm, all of Palmetto; one brother, Harry Bihm of Palmetto; three sisters, Shirley Ducote, Yvonne Bihm and Verbie Rogers and her husband, George, all of Palmetto; Also a friend of the family, Ronnie Lanclos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude M. Bihm Sr., and the former Olivia Beard; one infant daughter, Nichole Rene; three brothers, Hubert Bihm, Claude Bihm, Jr. and Wilson Bihm; and two sisters, Earline Rogers and Anna Mae Bihm.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Melancon Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service on Wednesday.

Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Road, (337) 407-1907, is in charge of arrangements.
