Funeral services for Claude M. Bihm, Sr., 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, followed by interment in the Waxia Cemetery, Waxia, La.
The Reverend Dallas Shuff will conduct the service.
Claude was born and raised in the Swayze Lake area and was a long-time resident of Palmetto, La. He died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Opelousas General Health System.
Mr. Bihm loved his family and his country. He served the United States during WWII in the US Navy. Mr. Bihm was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include his sons, Hubert Bihm, Palmetto, Wilson "Wild Bill" Bihm and companion, Joycelyn Bell, of Marapas, Harry Willard Bihm of Palmetto, Barney Bihm and wife, Patricia, of Palmetto, and Claude M. Bihm, Jr. and companion, Emma Robinson, of Ville Platte; daughters, Shirley B. Ducote, of Palmetto, Earline B. Rogers and partner Jimmy, of Simmsport, Verbie B. Rogers and husband, George, of Palmetto, Yvonne Bihm and partner, Ricky Hidgon, of Palmetto; 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Mr. Bihm was preceded in death by his parents; Milton E and Florence Foret Bihm, grandchild, Jessie Bihm and a great grandchild Joshua Bihm.
Visiting hours were observed in the Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Church on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue Wednesday, visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
