Died 2:34 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 1988, at Opelousas General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was 78, a native and resident of Palmetto. He was owner/operator of Harry Bihm Service Station and Repair Shop, Palmetto, since 1932. He was active in politics, having been a full-term Palmetto councilman and St. Landry Parish special deputy sheriff under Sheriff "Cat" Doucet. Visiting at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, Old Sunset Road, Opelousas, 2 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.Religious services at Palmetto Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Chapman. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by a son, Tracy Bihm Jr., Palmetto; four daughters, Mrs. Y.C. (Elaine) Andrepont, Opelousas, Mrs. Adam (Pat) Nugent, Mrs. Charles (Brenda) Morris and Wella Catherine Bihm, all of Baton Rouge; two brothers, and four sisters. Preceded in death by wife, Augusta Bihm. He was a member of Palmetto Lions Club, Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department and Palmetto Methodist Church.
