A celebration of life for Bruce Junior Pett, 78, was held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2075 Dover Avenue in Fairfield, California, with the Rev. Jeff Henry officiating. Mr. Pett died Monday, January 26, 2004, at David Grant USAF Medical Center after a long illness. A native of Arbun, Idaho, he lived in Fairfield for the past 36 years.

He was a senior master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served for 29 years, retiring in 1971. He worked for Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a mechanic for 15 years, retiring in 1984. Mr. Pett was a tennis player, a bicyclist, and avid "rock hound," and enjoyed lapidary.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Hilda J. Pett of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law Ursula and J.B. Wilson of Tuscon, Arizona; sons and daughters-in-law Frederick and Jill Pett of Vacaville and Eric and Cindy Pett of Benicia; sisters Marie Swenson of Malad City, Idaho, Betty Hipp of Nyssa, Oregon, and Karen Sutton of Parma, Idaho; grandchildren Jennifer Plummer of Chino Hills, Jake Newman and Alex Pett of Vacaville, and Jonathan and Erika Pett of Benicia.

Memorial contributions preferred to: American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif. 94533.

In recognition of his life of service, Bruce was laid to rest with honor at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in a private interment. All arrangements were in the care of the Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.
