In 1916 he commenced a partnership with Nat Phillips, the act known as Stiffy and Mo. In 1934 he appeared in the Cinesound movie, "Strike me Lucky" although this was not a commercial success. He found it hard to work without an audience.
Later he starred in the radio programme "McKackie Mansions" playing the part of Mo McKackie.
