Rutha was married to John Taylor Etheridge, Memorial #138578977, on 7 Dec 1871, in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She died sometime after the 1920 Census. She and her husband John were living with their son Benjamin in 1920. John Taylor Etheridge died in Newton County, Georgia, but they were possibly living in Atlanta at the time of his death in 1924.

She is the daughter of Matthew R Hunnicutt (1831-1864) and Martha Jane McGraw (1836-1904). Matthew Hunnicutt died at Camp Douglas Civil War POW camp in Chicago, IL in 1864.

I don't know the exact birth year but according the Census she was born in the early 1850s.

I would be happy to update, add or correct any of the above information at any time should someone's research prove fruitful.

Ruth and John had at least 12 children. I don't have any information on many of them, but their names are: Jordan Cylvanus "Bud", James Thomas, Jerry S, John Daniel, Alma M, Benjamin Mathew, Asbury J, Henry J, George T, Marion Madison, Harrison Grady, and Annie Lee.
