Venango Citizen Press, January 2, 1908:
Samuel Gordon, one of the best known residents of Bully Hill, died at his home there at 4:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Death was due to a paralytic stroke suffered less than two weeks ago.
Mr. Gordon was 81 years of age and had lived in Venango county all his life. Most of it was spent on the farm where he died. He leaves the following children: Clinton, of Bully Hill; Charles, of Niagara Falls; Mrs. M.A. Tibbens, of Franklin; Mrs. Elizabeth Bell, of Bully Hill, and Miss Jennie A., of New York.
The funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock on Thursday afternoon.
