Rudolph Kurth, was born in Berne Switzerland. Jun 25, 1845, and died at his home in Genoa, November 3, 1913. In 1867 he was united in marriage to Eliza Hunger. To this union was born nine children, all of whom were present at the bedside of their father when he passed.
In 1871 Mr. Kurth came to America and settled on a homestead near Duncan, Platte county. Seven years later they moved to a farm eight miles southeast of Genoa, where they resided until Mr. Kurth decided to retire from active farm work, and twelve years ago he moved to Genoa and purchased property in the south part of the city. Four years ago his health commenced to fail, and for the past two years he has been confined to his home.
Deceased was a man with many generous traits in his character, honorable in his dealing with his fellow man, and a good, faithful and patriotic citizen.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Internment was in the Valley View Cemetery.
Deceased leaves besides his wife, nine children and twenty four grandchildren. The children are Sam, Heck, and Jacob, and Mrs. Chet Cuddleford, Mrs.Robert Geiser, Mrs. Arnold Geiser, Mrs. Robert Hazlitte, Mrs. Will Nisus, Mrs. Mary Reist.
