Hector is the son and 4th child of Rudolf ( Rudolph ) O. Kurth & Elizabeth ( Eliza ) Enger ( Hunger).

Hector is the husband of Valet Blodgett, together they had two children; Clara and George.

Hector Kurth visited relatives in Columbus Sunday and attended the Columbus - Genoa ball game. Mrs. Kurth came home with her husband in the evening, but returned to Columbus where she is taking medical treatment for nasal trouble.

KURTH--Hector Kurth rites set here Saturday
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel for Hector Kurth, 97, a former Platte County resident who died Wednesday in Englewood, Colo.
The Rev. John McGee will officiate with burial in Columbus Cemetery. His body now lies in state.
Son of the late Rudolph and Eliza Hunguer Kurth, he was born Aug. 11, 1873 in Platte County near Genoa. He was educated at District 34 School and served as director of that school board for many years.
Mr. Kurth farmed near Genoa until 1924, when he moved to Columbus. Because of health, he moved to Denver in 1951 to live with his daughter, and since 1969 had lived in a nursing home.
He was a member of the IOOF Lodge at Genoa. On April 28, 1901, at Duncan he married Valnet Blodgett, who preceded him in death March 10, 1930.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Lester (Clara) Engel of Denver; son George D. of Des Moines; one sister Mrs. Robert (Frieda) Hazlitt of St. Edward; one brother, Sam of Fullerton; two grandsons and four great-grandchildren. Five brothers and sisters are deceased.
Memorials may be directed to Arthritis Foundation.
