Dorothy Ellen Dunham, 51, a DeKalb County native, died Monday, May 23, at 1:30 a.m. enroute to St. Margaret’s Hospital, Hammond. Mrs. Dunham had been a resident of Gary for the past 20 years.
Born February 25, 1926, to Lloyd and Victoria (Collett) Beard in Waterloo, she married Dale O. Dunham, on January 8, 1949, at Garrett. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Connie Cobb, of Gary, and Miss Diana Dunham, at home; two brothers, Clarence and Donald Beard, both of Butler; five sisters, Vivian Werner, of Waterloo; Virginia Hart, Fort Wayne; Florence Lint, Pauline Eck, and Agnes Suntken, all of Butler; one half-sister, June Moore, Edon, Ohio and one grandchild.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the Johnson Funeral Home, Butler, with Reverend Dennis Jackson, pastor of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment followed in South Scott Cemetery, Steuben County.
