Fred Manning Scarborough, age 77, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Paul G. Scarborough and the late Lilly Mae Bass Scarborough. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years, having served in Vietnam. Fred was a member of Toxaway United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Ellis Scarborough; his children, Douglas D. Scarborough and his wife Tammy, of Anderson, SC, Robert P. Scarborough and his wife Wendi, of Cleveland, GA, Audrey L. Cowell and her husband Wayne, of Florence, SC, Annette S. Clark and her husband Jim, of Pendleton, SC and Lisa S. Wilson and her husband Randall, of Anderson, SC; a brother, Johnny L. Scarborough, of Anderson, SC; a sister, Ann S. Sutherland, of Anderson, SC; 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lewis Scarborough and William D. Scarborough.
The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Kurt Stutler officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park after Military Honors.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VFW Post #6089, 2009 Scarborough Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
