son of Robert Sturgeon and Jean Robinson.

Jeremiah, the oldest child of Robert and Jean Sturgeon, was born April 10, 1768, probably in West Hanover Township, and died March 11, 1826.

He married 1st - Anne Ritchie, on March 14, 1793 at Old Hanover Church.
Rev. James Snodgrass officiated per his register.

married 2nd - Mary M'Cormick, daughter of John, on 25 Jun 1818,
also at Old Hanover Church. Historical Sketch of Old Hanover Church,
Rev. Thomas H. Robinson, D.D., Dauphin Co. Historical Society, 1878, p 25, 27.

His mother Jean Robinson died in 1772.

Jeremiah had siblings - Robert & Thomas - and
step siblings from stepmother Jane Snodgrass:
Jean, Timothy, Samuel, Effie, Joseph & James.

His first wife was Annie Ritchie, whom he married March 7, 1793, and who bore him
five children: Robert, David Ritchie, Jane, Nancy Ann and Effie.
She died October 28, 1811.

His second wife was Mary McCormick, whom he married June 25, 1818.
Their children were George Washington and Timothy Scott.
