Josephine Whitaker Rice, age 67, of Salyersville, Ky., passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Josephine was born October 22, 1942, to the late Orville and Jane Salyers Whitaker in Royalton, Ky.
She was united in marriage to the late John Rice.
Josephine was a member of the Ivyton Baptist Church in Salyersville, Ky.
Josephine is preceded in death by three brothers, Orville Whitaker Jr., Marvin Whitaker and Carly Whitaker.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, with Brain Bailey and Simon Porter officiating. Burial will immediatly follow at the Fletcher-Whitaker Cemetery located in Gun Creek, Ky.∼Josephine Whitaker Rice

Josephine was born October 22, 1942 to the Late Orville and Jane Salyers Whitaker in Royalton, Ky. She was united in marriage to the Late John Rice. Josephine was a member of the Ivyton Baptist Church in Salyersville, Ky. She is survived by One Daughter: Norma Rice and her companion Steve Hayman both of Salyersville, Ky.; One Brother: C.M. Whitaker of Salyersville, Ky.; Two Sisters: Darlene Trusty and Doris Marshall both of Salyersville, Ky.; One Grandson: Jacob Hayman and One Foster Granddaughter: Candy Thacker. Josephine is also survived by a very close friend, Ann McDowell. Along with her parents and husband Josephine is preceded in death by Three Brothers: Orville Whitaker JR., Marvin Whitaker and Carly Whitaker. Funeral Services for Josephine Whitaker Rice will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Brain Bailey and Simon Porter officiating.
