Katie Thuermer, age 92, of Mt. Calvary, passed away Sunday, May 15, 1988, unexpectedly at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
She was born on May 7, 1896 at Medford, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Kramer Abhold.
She attended St. Michael’s Grade School, Dotyville.
She was married to William J. Thuermer on Oct. 1, 1914 at Dotyville. The couple resided in Mt. Calvary, where they operated a blacksmith shop and later an implement and hardware dealership. Her husband died in 1974.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mt. Calvary; the Christian Mother’s Society, Third Order of St. Francis, Mt. Calvary Homemakers, the Villa Loretta Auxiliary, and was previously active in the 4-H as a sewing instructor.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Huss Funeral Home in St. Cloud, with a funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mt. Calvary. Father David Matenaer, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
