JOHN E. AFFLECK
John E. Affleck, 63, 1409 Church avenue, Phenix City, was stricken suddenly ill shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday as he was working at the 514 club, Dillingham street, Phenix City, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Phenix hospital at 2:30.
Funeral will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Epworth church, Phenix City. The Rev. R. K, Jones, pastor will conduct the services. Burial will be in Girard cemetery.
Mr. Affleck was born in Phenix City, April 13, 1888, and had lived there all his life. He was a son of the late Jim and Anna Peters Affleck, and was a member of Epworth church.
Survivors are four sons, William F. and James P. Affleck, Phenix City, George H. Affleck, Columbus, and Arthur Affleck, Fort Benning; three daughters, Mrs.. J. B. Rudd, Phenix City, and Mrs. James H. Holt, and Mrs. R. L. Schimmel, Columbus; a brother, Arthur F. Affleck, Crawford, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Ida Whitten, Phenix City; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be, active; Bill Dickerson, Donnie Howard, W. C. Roney, Lawrence Roney, Carl Head, Mack Ross and Henry Blake; honorary, Harry Thompson, Charlie Hall, Sam Freeman, Dr. M. E. Meadows, Seab Harris, Harris Edwards and Buddy Edwards.
Mr. Affleck's body will remain at his home until 3:30 p.m. Monday.
