Jimmie, 66 of Lake, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born the son of the late Norman and Etta Eileen (Williams) Abbott.

He was united in marriage to Joanne Ball on August 11, 1972 in Eaton Rapids. Jim had served his Country in the Army during the Vietnam War; he had worked in the Oil Fields. He was a member of both the Clare and Lake Eagles, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud bogging, racing, motorcycles, 4-wheeling and playing his guitar.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne; children Shawn Marie Abbott; Michael (Melissa) Abbott, Jimmie (Holly) Abbott, Jr. and Linda (Stan) Dean; his grandchildren Austin and Caleb Abbott, Evan and Owen Abbott and Joseph and Jacob Dean; siblings Paula Maeder, Carolyn Parish, Jerry (Jean) Abbott and Judy Casey.

Jim was predeceased by his brother-in-laws Dale Maeder and Jack Parish.

Services were held at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. with Pastor John Kasper officiating
