Bartelme, Gordon H.

Gordon H. Bartelme, age 97, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Gordon was born on June 20, 1917 in Manitowoc to the late Michael and Lillian Wegforth Bartelme. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1935. At a young age, Gordon performed with The Billy Schultz Circus. On May 9, 1942, Gordon married Lorraine Klackner at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2003. Gordon was an electrician and was employed for Manitowoc Shipbuilding, Manitowoc Equipment Works, Bartelme Electric, City of Manitowoc, Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, and then retired from the Manitowoc Company at age 68. He had volunteered for the Capitol Civic Centre and the Manitowoc Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include Gordon's eight children: Judy Boesen, Colorado Springs, CO; Bill Bartelme, Leesville, LA; Jeanne Graycarek, Denmark; Thomas Bartelme, Manitowoc; Terry Murphy, Knoxville, TN; Dan Bartelme, Manitowoc; Dick Bartelme, Manitowoc; and David Bartelme, Two Rivers; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; sister: Marilyn Oestreich, Fond du Lac; two brothers: Glenn Bartelme and Robert Bartelme, both of Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gordon was preceded in death by 13 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Beaudry will officiate with entombment taking place at Calvary Mausoleum. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
