Aaron was the 7th of nine children born to James Gibson and Ann nee Mortimer. He was born in Leicester and lived in Slater Street. He worked as an excavators labourer before he went out to Chattanooga in the 1880's. He had married Sarah Ann Bishop (who was born at Shearsby, Leicestershire in 1856) in Leicester in 1873. They had least two children in Leicester:- Ernest b1879 and Henry b1880 d 1881. Sarah Ann died in 1892 in Chattanooga. He married Mary Ann Trotter and had five more children. His sisters Matilda Loydall, Eliza Vann, Sarah Ann Gibson and Emma Leach used to write to their brother in Chattanooga and it was said that his unmarried sister Sarah Ann went out to America to live at 22nd Street, Chattanooga in the 1890's.
