He was born May 19, 1892, in Waynesburg, a son of Newton and Mary Gordon Brown.
Mr. Brown had lived most of his life in Waynesburg where he was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church. He had been a resident of Hixenbaugh Nursing Home for the past three years.
Mr. Brown was a retired steelworker for the Jessop Steel Co., Washington.
On May 19, 1917, he married Jessie Thomas, who died January 1, 1980.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret B. Davis of Waynesburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Sherman (Haddie) Roberts of Waynesburg and Mrs. Ray (Anna) Mason of Claysville.
One daughter, three sons, and several sisters and brothers are deceased.
