Early Life: Riley was born July 25, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Spencer Croxall and Nancy Badger Cannon. He graduated from Cyprus High School in 1949, and attended the University of Utah from 1954 to 1955.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Riley served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1949 to 1954, he was honorably discharged. He married Deloris Singleton in December of 1961. They were divorced in 1986. In August of 1988, Riley married Lola Shurtleff. Riley was employed as a Sheriff from 1960 to 1989 for the Salt Lake City Sheriff Department. He was promoted in 1978 over the detective division. He also graduated from the FBI Academy in 1975. Following Riley's retirement, he worked as a security officer for Intermountain Health Care. He also worked with his wife Lola as an independent sales contractor for Phone Directories in Orem. Riley Badger Cannon, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83 years old.

Survived By: His wife, Lola Cannon; daughter, Sandy (Jamie) McDonald; step-children: Kim (Eileen) Shurtleff, Teresa (Alvin) Christensen, Lance (Shauna) Shurtleff and Sherrie Singleton; sisters: Mary Mix and Nancy Cook; brother, Michael Cannon; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His parents, Spencer and Nancy Cannon; brothers: John, Hugh, Glen, Robert (twin) and Donald Cannon; one step-child; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
