Mary Cannon Mix, age 99, died peacefully on July 21, 2018 in Salt Lake City.

She was born April 27, 1919 in McCornick, the daughter of Spencer Croxall and Nancy Badger Cannon. Mary loved her childhood and developed a passion for tap dancing. Graduating from Cyprus High School, she then attended Brigham Young University.

She first danced with Robert (Bud) Mix at the Saltair Resort and later married him on June 12, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised their children in Ogden and Salt Lake City. She loved being a mother.

We remember her for advice and laughter while sitting around the kitchen table, bottling fruit on hot September days, sewing, gardening, offering sincere prayers, and standing at the front door waving goodbye.

Mom taught us to laugh, love life, and look for the good. Family, friends, and neighbors were her greatest treasures. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was her life and purpose. She served with her husband in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission, as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple and in several church callings. For sixty-three years, she loved residing in "The Great" East Millcreek Third (Sixteenth) Ward. She adored her neighbors and friends.

For four memorable years, her sister, Nancy Ann, resided with and cared for her. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Nancy and to those friends, hospice nurses, and other caregivers who lovingly served her for the last several years of her life. She looked forward to each visit.

She is survived by four of her five children, Jeffrey, Riverton; Rosemary (Jack) Wixom, Holladay; Roseann (Ralph) Neilson, Orange, California; and Paul (Leslie), Provo; a brother, Michael B. Cannon, West Valley City; a sister, Nancy Ann Cook, Vancouver, Washington; twenty-three grandchildren; seventy-nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; son, Jimmy; granddaughter, Cristin Croshaw; great-grandson, Isaac Trinnaman; and six brothers: John, Glen, Hugh, Riley, Robert, and George.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the East Millcreek Sixteenth Ward Chapel, 3408 South Celeste Way (3100 East). Friends may call at the church on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
