Wachowski, Frank J.

Frank J. Wachowski, age 95, of 2241 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc, passed into eternal life on November 2, 2012.

Frank was born on January 17, 1917, son of the late Adam and Helen Wachowski. He attended Pulaski Public Schools and then farmed eight years. On May 15, 1940, he married Jeanette Schmidt at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers. They were members of Sacred Heart for many years. Jeanette preceded Frank in death after 67 years of marriage on October 27, 2007. Frank joined the U.S. Army on June 8, 1945, at Fort Sheridan, Ill., under a special training course, and then had infantry training at Camp Fannin, Texas. On May 8, 1946, he was in the Btry.C 571 ST.AA Artillery automatic weapons at Camp McCoy, Wis. Following his honorable discharge he was employed at Imperial Eastman, now known as Parker, for 35 years before retiring. Frank enjoyed having a mink farm, chickens, and loved pigeons, which he had most of his lifetime. He also enjoyed gardening and cutting lawns for people. Frank traveled to Arizona with relatives when he could and enjoyed helping and being with his family.

Survivors include a daughter: Arlene Neuser, of Manitowoc; two grandsons: Mark Neuser of Florence and John Neuser of Manitowoc; granddaughter: Joan Neuser of Appleton; great granddaughter: Ashley Dokey; and two sisters: Irene Dworak of Two Rivers and Mary Pokorsky of Manitowoc. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son: Donald Wachowski in 1974; three brothers: Theodore, Richard and John Wachowski; and two sisters: Annie Braun and Agnes Lodel.

Private funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy 310, Manitowoc. Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiated at the service with entombment following in the mausoleum. Military honors were accorded by members of American Legion Post # 165 and V.F.W. Post # 1248 of Two Rivers.
