Survivors are his widow, five sons, Henry Schuman, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Japan, who flew home a few hours before his father's death; John and Robert Schuman, Port Huron, and Alex and William Schuman, McGregor; six daughters, Mrs. Edsel Schultz, Lincoln Park; Mrs. Donald Orvis, New Hudson; Mrs. Nelson Truitt, Marlette; Miss Jean Schuman, at home and Mrs. Verral Sweet and Miss Lydia Schuman, both of Port Huron; a brother, John Schuman, St. Clair; two sisters, Mrs. David Neuman, St. Clair, and Mrs. Ed LaBelle, Owosso, and four grandchildren.
A son, Walter Schuman was killed in the Korean War.
Remains are in the Carman funeral home in Deckerville where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. L. Keinath, pastor of Peace Lutheran church, Sandusky, will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
