Ann T. Slovak, 67, of Elm Mott, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Boniface Onjefu and the Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Ann was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Raymond T. and Bonnie Lee (Alexander) Thomas. She attended schools in Waco. On December 16, 1977, she married Ernest E. Slovak, in Waco. Ann was a counselor for the Family Abuse Center in Waco. Prior to that, she co-owned Ann & Barbara's Cafe in Ross, worked for Centurion Mobile Homes, and the West Auction Barn Restaurant. Ann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching her grandchildren play their many sports. She also had the biggest heart and always wanted to help others before herself.

Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Johnson; brother-in-law, Bob Johnson; and a nephew, Raymond Johnson.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Ernest Slovak; daughters, Leann Mordecai and husband, Micah, of McGregor, and Beverly Pilgrim, and husband, Craig, of Elm Mott; son, Russell Slovak and wife, Lojuana, of Grand Prairie; grandchildren: Destinee Terry and husband, Travis, Taylor Mordecai, Tanner Mordecai, Leanna Pilgrim, and Corey Slovak; great-grandson, Micah Liam Terry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
