Mildred Olive Boehm, 85, of Findlay, and formerly of Dunkirk, died at 12:28 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was born in Van Buren Township on June 5, 1929 to the late Alpha and Zelma (Grieser) Wilson. On March 12, 1950 she married Byron “Barney” Boehm and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2001.
Mildred is survived by her six children, Anna (David) Wolford of Forest, Laurie (Lee) Laird of Arcadia, Mary Vergiels of Findlay, B. Lynn (Nadine) Boehm of Dunkirk, Nancy (Sean) Tobin of Dunkirk, Tom (Cindy) Boehm of Forest; a brother, Richard Wilson of Gladstone, MI and a sister-in-law, Naomi (Norman) Schaller of Dunkirk. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Ryan, James (Melissa) and Andrew Wolford, Corey (Mandy) Henson, Josh Vergiels, Zac (Lindsay Stull) Boehm, Nik and Chelsea Boehm, Erin and Colin Tobin, Mitchel and Josie Boehm, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lutheria Hartman and granddaughter, Coral Boehm.
Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera where she was involved with the church women. She was a farmers wife, working on the family farm and was a member of the Hardin County Homemakers. Mildred spent 20 plus winters in Florida where she was a member of the Red Hat Society. She also volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society, Arlington.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera and for one hour (10:00-11:00) prior to the service. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Van Buren Township. Arrangements entrusted to CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Paul Lutheran Church Memory Garden.
