TERESA LYNN TENNEY
ADA — Services for Teresa Lynn Tenney, 52, of Ada, are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa. The Rev. John D. Norvell and Phyllis Isaacs will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tenney died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 9, 1960, in Ada to John Sanford Choate Jr. and Joyce Brooks Choate. She lived in this area all her life. She attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School. She graduated from the Byng Nursing School as a licensed practical nurse and later received a degree from East Central University School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
She married John Tenney on Oct. 21, 1988. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1996.
Mrs. Tenney was a nurse at Valley View Regional Hospital and was later a nurse for home health and for the Department of Human Services. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Vamoosa.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Tenney; her mother, Joyce Williams and stepfather, Walter Williams; her sisters, Joy Dawn Miller and her husband, Mike Miller, and Tracy Ballard and husband, Mickey Ballard; stepbrothers, Walt Williams III and David Williams and wife, Debbie; a stepsister, Christy Davidson and husband, Randy Davidson; nieces, Katrina Brown and husband, Todd Brown, Hillary Brown and husband, Tyler Brown, Caitlin Miller, Amanda Fleming and husband, Nathan Fleming; nephews, Jeremy Ballard and wife, Lacy Ballard, and Michael Miller and wife Ashley Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, John S. Choate Jr.; a brother, John S. Choate, III; sister, Katrina Jo Choate; her husband, John Ray Tenney; and her grandparents, John S. Choate, Sr. and Nellie Choate, and Greer and Margie Brooks.
Bearers will be Mickey Ballard, Mike Miller, Todd Brown and Tyler Brown.
