Juanita "Nita" Swepston, 84, of Burlington, died at Danville Care Center.

She was born to Jose Soto and Manuela Aldape. On March 26, 1966, she married Dallas H. Swepson in Burlington. He died December 18, 2002.

She worked as a lab technician at Burlington Medical Center.

She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader, member of the Spider Web Youth Center Senior Board, Catholic Aid Society, RSVP, UAW retirees, and Friends of the Depot. She enjoyed volunteering as a greeter at the depot. Her hobbies included sewing.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Diaz of Palm Harbor, Florida, Mike Diaz, and John Diaz, both of Burlington; two daughters, Judy Bojorquez of Burlington and Jessie Dickenson of Clovis, New Mexico; three stepsons, Edward, Reggie, and Jerry Swepson, all of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Kilinski of Fredercksburg, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

The Mass of the Resurrection was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Patrick J. Hilgendorf as celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir.
