Leland R. Krepline, age 83, of Reedsville, died on Saturday March 21, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
He was born on September 19, 1931 in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Theodore & Lily (Furhmann) Krepline. On May 9, 1959 he married Helen Buehlman. She preceded him in death on December 12, 1972. On April 27, 1974 Leland married Mary Lou Skinkis at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Leland attended Long Lake School and graduated from Brillion High School. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 months, serving 16 months in Germany. After his military service, Leland farmed in the Town of Rockland for 40 years, retiring in 1999. He loved to do crafts, hunt, play cards and go sturgeon fishing. He was a member of St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville; he served on the Reedsville Co-op Board of Directors for 27 years, the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau Board for 18 years, and the Manitowoc Milk Producers Board for 5 years; he was a member of the Reedsville Amvets Post #1032 and a lifetime member of Rockea Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lou, his children, Susan (Mark) Stanelle of Brillion, Melissa Valleskey of Valders, Debbie (Bill) Suettinger of Manitowoc, Scott (Mary) Skinkis of Brillion, Bruce (Lori) Skinkis of Brillion, Gary Skinkis of Texas, Todd Skinkis of Reedsville, Guy (Wanda) Skinkis of Texas, 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Ida May Krepline of Brillion and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steven, a daughter Sandra, 2 brothers Orville and Roland, a sister and brother-in-law Lynabelle & Andrew Sukowaty and a son-in-law Grant Valleskey.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Collins.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and then at the church from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com.
