Loving mother and grandmother to many generations, Gussie A. Beard joined her husband, Mac, in heaven on his birthday, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at age 90.

Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Brister, Keith Norton, Trey Chollette, Brian Norton, Andrew Robbins, Tyler Robbins, Alex Chollette, Roberto Hernandez, Chris Matherne and Trey Chollette.

Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Keith Norton, JoNell and Neal Chollette, and Sue Bickham; a son, James A. Hathcox; a brother, John A. Adams, of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren, Molly, Brian and Tiffany Norton, Tracey Robbins, Jeff Brister, Loren Simoneaux, Layla Dutruch, Jay and Clinton Hathcox, Amiee Matherne, Michelle Hernandez and Trey Chollette; 10 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Kylie, Madeline, Isaac, Gabriel, Alex, Haylee, Jared and Joshua; and a great-great-grandchild, Riley.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Maxwell "Mac" Beard; parents, Oscar and Mattie Adams; grandchild, Lindsey Norton; three sisters; and three brothers.
