Dorthy "Dot" Barkley Johnson was born in Deadwood, TX on July 5, 1930. She entered Heaven's gates on February 8, 2017, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Dot was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Thomas C. (TC) Johnson, her daughter Kathryn Ann (Johnson) Forrester, and seven brothers and sisters. Dot is survived by her daughter Karen Johnson Hardin (Ed), three grandchildren, Brittany Leigh Hardin Tanguay (Jonathan), Klent Joseph Hardin, and Curt Hudson Forrester, and brother, Vernon Barkley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2 - 5 PM, with a celebration of her life the following day, Monday, February 13, 2017 at 12:30 PM, followed by a reception, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. Interment will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston Junior Forum Community Grants Committee, PO Box 7941, Houston, TX 77270-7941; or the Houston A&M Mothers' Club, PO Box 1578, Bellaire, TX 77402-1578.
