Kelly Gholson, 91, passed away quietly with her daughter by her side on September 28th 2015. Mary was born in Deadwood, TX on October 23, 1923, to James Albert and Ella Mae Barkley. Mary was preceded in death by James and Ella Barkley, D.A. Kelly, Sr., D.A. Kelly, Jr., and six of her siblings. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ralph Gholson, her daughter Marshan Kelly Luttrell, her sister Dorothy Johnson, her brother Rev. Vernon Barkley, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. Mary was a warm, witty and beautiful woman who loved her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. When she had her sight, she enjoyed reading her Bible daily and witnessing to her children and grandchildren who she loved dearly. She could often be heard singing hymns while going about her daily life. The Pallbearers are Kelly Hayes, D.A. Kelly, III, Mark Kelly, Brian Kelly, John Goforth, and Sherman La Fleur. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 2201 Airline Dr. in Bossier City on Tuesday, the 6th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on the 7th of October. The service will be officiated by Mike Stowell. Mary will be interred at Forest Park St. Vincent.
